Zoom Technologies, Inc.: Zoom(R) Introduces PCI Express Modem

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - February 12, 2009) - Zoom Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ ZOOM ]) announced today the first shipments of the Model 3035 PCI Express Modem, a V.92 data/fax modem for desktop computers. The low-cost dial-up modem is a single lane (1X) PCI Express card that plugs into any available PCI Express slot on a Windows-compatible computer.

The Model 3035 has extensive regulatory approvals in countries around the world, with completed regulatory compliance in 70 countries. The Model 3035 has been tested as qualified for regulatory approval in another 26 countries, but with licensing fees required for full approval in those countries. The modem is fully operational in the remaining countries of the world, where formal regulatory approval is not typically required.

The Model 3035 is Windows Hardware Qualification Laboratory (WHQL) approved to ensure Plug-and-Play installation and compatibility with Windows Vista, XP and 2000 systems.

Other features of the Model 3035 modem include send-and-receive fax support, and robust ZoomGuard® lightning protection to guard against the leading cause of modem failure.

Estimated retail price of the Model 3035 is $39.
