US imposing new export controls on biotech equipment over China concerns

The U.S. is set to impose new export controls on advanced biotechnology and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, aiming to prevent their use in ways that could threaten national security. This move reflects growing concerns over the dual-use nature of these technologies, which can serve both civilian and military purposes. The initiative also seeks to safeguard U.S. technological leadership and prevent the proliferation of technologies that could undermine global security.
