NASA's Lunar Trailblazer, a small satellite mission set to launch in 2025, aims to explore the Moon's surface in detail by mapping water molecules and their physical states. This mission will utilize two key instruments: the Lunar Thermal Mapper (LTM) to measure surface temperatures and the High-resolution Volatiles and Minerals Moon Mapper (HVM3) to detect water's presence and form. By providing high-resolution data, Lunar Trailblazer will help scientists understand the distribution and behavior of water on the Moon, which is crucial for future lunar exploration and potential resource utilization.
