CHENNAI: NIT Trichy is planning to launch an online MS degree in AI and data science in collaboration with Illinois Institute of Technology in the US in July 2025. According to NIT Trichy director G Aghila,

The National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NIT Trichy) is set to launch a Master of Science (MS) program in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science in collaboration with the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), Chicago. This program, starting in July 2024, will be delivered through a hybrid model combining online and in-person learning. It aims to equip students with advanced skills in AI and data science, offering them the opportunity to earn a degree from IIT while staying in India. The curriculum will cover essential topics like machine learning, data analytics, and AI ethics, with faculty from both institutions contributing to the teaching. This initiative not only enhances educational opportunities but also fosters international academic collaboration.
