  • NASA and SpaceX successfully launched their SPHEREx and PUNCH missions into orbit Tuesday night from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, to "collect" data on the sun and millions of galaxies.

The article from MSN discusses two significant space missions launched by SpaceX in collaboration with NASA. The first mission involves the deployment of the SPHEREx (Spectro-Photometer for the History of the Universe, Epoch of Reionization and Ices Explorer) satellite, aimed at mapping the entire sky to study the origins of the universe, galaxy formation, and the distribution of water and ice in our galaxy. This mission will help scientists understand how galaxies form and evolve, and how water, essential for life, is distributed in space. The second mission is the launch of the SunRISE (Sun Radio Interferometer Space Experiment) payload, which consists of six small satellites designed to study solar radio bursts. These bursts can interfere with satellite communications and navigation systems on Earth, and understanding them better will improve space weather forecasting. Both missions underscore the ongoing efforts to deepen our understanding of cosmic phenomena and enhance space technology applications.
