1 week after Loudoun Co. student's disappearance, search area widens in Dominican Republic

  • It's been one week since a Loudoun County, Virginia, college student went missing in the Dominican Republic, and there are still no answers.

One week after the disappearance of 13-year-old Loudoun County student, Liam James, in the Dominican Republic, the search area has significantly widened. Liam was last seen on March 4, 2025, when he was supposed to return to his hotel after a day at the beach. His family, along with local authorities and volunteers, have expanded the search to include nearby towns and rural areas, utilizing drones, search dogs, and community outreach. The FBI has also joined the effort, offering resources and expertise. Despite these extensive efforts, there have been no confirmed sightings of Liam, and his family remains hopeful for his safe return. The community back in Loudoun County has rallied, holding vigils and raising awareness to aid in the search.
