The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in the Philippines has launched an initiative aimed at supporting startups by providing them with access to funding, mentorship, and resources. This initiative, known as the Startup Grant Fund, is designed to help early-stage startups develop their technologies and business models. According to DOST Secretary Renato Solidum Jr., the program not only seeks to foster innovation but also to ensure that Filipino startups can compete globally. The initiative includes various forms of assistance like prototype development, market validation, and intellectual property protection, aiming to reduce the financial burden on new entrepreneurs and accelerate the growth of the startup ecosystem in the country.
