Govt launches MYStartup initiatives to empower start-ups beyond fintech with grants and mentoring, targets 5,000 registrations, says science minister

The Malaysian government has launched the MyStartup initiative aimed at supporting startups beyond the fintech sector, as announced by Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang. This initiative seeks to empower startups through various support mechanisms including grants, mentoring, and networking opportunities. The goal is to register 5,000 startups, providing them with access to resources like the MyStartup Portal for registration and information, and the MyStartup Connect platform for networking. Additionally, the initiative includes the MyStartup Pre-Accelerator Programme for early-stage startups and the MyStartup Accelerator Programme for more established ones, offering tailored support to help these businesses grow and succeed. The minister emphasized the importance of creating a vibrant startup ecosystem that fosters innovation and economic growth.
