Oxford professor joins UK government council to advise PM on science and tech

The UK government has appointed Professor Dame Sarah Gilbert, a renowned vaccinologist from Oxford University, to its newly established Council for Science and Technology. This council, which advises Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on science and technology policy, aims to bolster the UK's position as a science and technology superpower by 2030. Professor Gilbert, who played a pivotal role in developing the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, joins other distinguished members like Sir Patrick Vallance and Professor Dame Angela McLean.
