This funding, part of the DOE's Vehicle Technologies Office (VTO), aims to advance research, development, and demonstration projects that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, enhance energy efficiency, and promote the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and other sustainable transportation solutions. The grants will focus on areas such as battery technology, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and innovative mobility solutions, including connected and autonomous vehicles. This initiative is part of a broader effort to meet national climate goals and reduce reliance on fossil fuels in the transportation sector, which is one of the largest contributors to U.S. greenhouse gas emissions.
