  • South Korea will invest 86.2 billion won (US$59.3 million) this year for the development of technologies that will help tackle climate change, the science ministry said Wednesday. With the investment,

South Korea has announced plans to invest 86.2 billion won (approximately $63.7 million) in developing new technologies aimed at addressing climate change. This investment will focus on creating innovative solutions in areas such as carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), renewable energy, and energy efficiency. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, as outlined by the Ministry of Science and ICT. The funding will support research and development projects, encourage private sector participation, and foster international collaborations to enhance technological advancements in combating global warming.
