Government, private sector partner to empower learners in rural KZN

The South African government, in collaboration with the private sector, has launched an initiative to empower learners in rural KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) by providing them with essential educational resources. This partnership aims to bridge the digital divide by equipping schools with smartboards, laptops, and tablets, thereby enhancing the learning experience. The initiative also includes training for teachers to effectively use these technologies. The project not only focuses on improving educational outcomes but also on fostering digital literacy among students, preparing them for a technology-driven future. This effort is part of a broader strategy to ensure that rural students have access to quality education comparable to their urban counterparts, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities in education.
