Pentagon Launches SciTechCONNECT for National Security Tech Ease

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has launched the SciTechConnect program to foster collaboration between the DoD and the academic community, aiming to advance science and technology research. This initiative, announced by Heidi Shyu, the undersecretary of defense for research and engineering, seeks to integrate academic research with defense needs by providing a platform for sharing research, networking, and accessing funding opportunities. SciTechConnect will facilitate connections between researchers, DoD labs, and industry partners, offering tools like a searchable database of DoD research interests, funding announcements, and collaboration opportunities. The program is designed to accelerate the transition of cutting-edge research into practical defense applications, enhancing national security through innovation.
