HP Announces Energy-efficient Solutions for Businesses and Consumers

SAN FRANCISCO--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--HP (NYSE:HPQ) today announced new products, services and HP Labs research that help customers reduce their energy use.

During the companya™s [ Unlocking Your Energy ] event in San Francisco, HP introduced the EcoSMART portfolio, which delivers solutions that can help customers reduce costs by up to 30 percent and, with the expertise offered by HP Managed Print Services, reduce energy by up to 80 percent. HP EcoSMART fleet and console software options deliver real-time performance information to help businesses save energy and paper, and track critical information to reduce their environmental impact.

HP also unveiled a proof of concept for groundbreaking [ home energy monitoring research ] from [ HP Labs ], the companya™s central research facility. The research includes a tool that uses sensors and HP gateways throughout the home to track energy consumption by room and appliance. It also offers homeowners energy reduction tips and enables electrical use data to be viewed alongside other resources, such as water and gas.

HP also introduced the [ HP EcoSolutions Store ], an online resource featuring more than 300 ENERGY STAR®-qualified and EPEAT registered products, providing consumers and small businesses with a simple way to identify and purchase HP products designed with the environment in mind.
