TIBCO Spotfire to Host Ninth Annual Energy Forum in Houston

SOMERVILLE, MA--(Marketwire - March 2, 2011) - TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ: [ TIBX ]) announced today the ninth annual TIBCO Spotfire® [ Energy Forum ], to be held March 7-8, 2011. Industry leaders from across the energy sector as well as Spotfire® users will gather at this year's forum to learn and share their insights into how the [ TIBCO Spotfire analytics platform ] is being used to help some of the world's leading energy companies.

Overview:
Now in its ninth year, the TIBCO Spotfire Energy Forum will specifically offer users focused on the oil and gas industry an opportunity to learn best practices from world-leading energy executives, network with peers, explore new product enhancements in Spotfire and communicate feedback directly to product team members.

The theme of this year's forum is "Unconventionally Turning Data Into Competitive Advantage!" On March 7^th, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a complimentary first-come, first-served Spotfire training session from 8:30-11:30 a.m. local time. An afternoon session has already filled. On March 8^th, users will have the opportunity to listen and participate in presentations and discussions that will focus on harnessing the power of the TIBCO Spotfire analytics platform to meet the unique challenges of analyzing oil and gas data. Specifically, attendees will learn how to identify the macro trends in operators and leases, as well as discover how to statistically analyze, predict, and map Estimated Ultimate Recovery (EUR).

Spotfire Session:
Dr. Michael O'Connell, TIBCO Spotfire's senior director of life sciences, and Tim Crocker, Spotfire's senior solutions consultant, will present a breakout session titled "Integrating Spotfire and Statistics Services," which will show attendees how to take a custom TIBCO Spotfire S+® script/function and publish it to the Spotfire library. The presenters will also show attendees how to pull that data function into any Spotfire analysis file and connect the inputs and outputs. The discussion will conclude with a live demonstration of this functionality and an overview of the various execution options that are available to customers.
