Vitesse Adds Industry Veteran, Steve M. Perna, as Vice President, Product Marketing

CAMARILLO, Calif.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation (Pink Sheets: VTSS), a leading provider of advanced IC solutions for Carrier and Enterprise networks, today announced that Steve M. Perna has joined the Company as vice president, Product Marketing. Mr. Perna is responsible for global execution of Vitessea™s market strategy for all product lines. In this role, Mr. Perna reports to Chris Gardner, Vitessea™s chief executive officer.

Mr. Perna has 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including both blue-chip companies and start-ups. He held various different senior-level roles with PMC-Sierra, Inc. from 1995 to 2007. Before joining PMC-Sierra, Mr. Perna spent 15 years as the Director of Marketing and Management at Texas Instruments in Dallas. He was most recently President and CEO at Wiquest Communications, a wireless networking start-up.

Mr. Perna earned a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 1980. He also earned a Master of Business Administration in marketing management and an M.S. in corporate finance from the University of Dallas, as well as an M.S. in biomedical/electrical engineering from the University of Texas.
