Corning Prices $700 Million of Senior Unsecured Notes

CORNING, N.Y.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) announced today that it has priced $300 million aggregate principal amount of senior unsecured notes at a coupon of 4.25%. The notes will mature on August 15, 2020. Additionally, the company has priced $400 million aggregate principal amount of senior unsecured notes at a coupon of 5.75%, which will mature on August 15, 2040. Subject to customary closing conditions, the transactions are expected to close on August 10, 2010. A portion of the net proceeds of the offering will be used to fund the purchase of the debt securities subject to the tender offer announced by the company today, and any excess net proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.
