CSC Recognized for Achievements in Social Business Strategy
FALLS CHURCH, Va.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--CSC (NYSE:CSC) announced today that it has been honored with a "Community Adoption Award" at the JiveWorld09 Conference for the successful adoption of its internal business social networking initiative "C3: Connect. Communicate. Collaborate."
"We believe the secret of our early success can be attributed to our multi-tiered advocacy strategy that augmented our formal, global communication plan and provided the bottoms-up support that was fundamental to the viral, early adoption success of this industry-recognized global initiative"
Jive Software, the host of the JiveWorld09 Conference, recognized the C3 program for adding business value through greater collaboration, reducing business pitch processing time and lessening duplication of effort, often a key feature of enterprise wide businesses.
Launched in May 2009, C3 is, to date, one of the largest ever internal community networking software installations, rolled out to a potential group of all 92,000 CSC staff simultaneously. Its scale of adoption was truly unique – some 25,000 registered users populating around 2,000 community groups and generating over one million page views per month, inside 20 weeks.
"We believe the secret of our early success can be attributed to our multi-tiered advocacy strategy that augmented our formal, global communication plan and provided the bottoms-up support that was fundamental to the viral, early adoption success of this industry-recognized global initiative," said Claire Flanagan, senior manager KM and social collaboration for CSC.
"We operate in 90 countries around the world and have 92,000 employees, in an operation of that size and complexity it is essential to have collaboration, cooperation and communication across the business," said Lem Lasher, chief innovation office for CSC. "I am very pleased to see the success and rapid adoption of this important program."
The C3 program was also recognized at the Enterprise 2.0 Conference in San Francisco, Ca. The 2.0 Adoption Council named Claire Flanagan, CSC's senior manager for knowledge management and enterprise social collaboration, ‘Internal Evangelist of the Year', recognizing the tenacity of the project team, led by Claire, to secure a high level of executive endorsement from the onset and establish a clear link between enterprise 2.0 initiatives and the company's core business objectives.
"Internal Evangelists are the true heroes of the Enterprise 2.0 revolution, preaching the principles of the 2.0 movement, building the C-level business cases, and driving adoption across large enterprises," said Susan Scrupski, founder of The 2.0 Adoption Council. "Claire embodies the spirit of the Internal Evangelist and will help inspire other evangelists who are looking to drive seismic change in their enterprises. To quote one of her colleagues, ‘I believe Claire's program marks a clear line in the sand, a before and after point in time for CSC.'"
