SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - January 6, 2010) - [ Riverbed Technology ] (NASDAQ: [ RVBD ]), the IT infrastructure performance company for networks, applications and storage, today announced that it has received the highest marks from TheInfoPro in its "Networking Study Vendor Performance Report Wave 6." According to TheInfoPro, Riverbed® came out on top, receiving the highest combined score in the Promise Index and Fulfillment Index based on superior customer satisfaction ratings. Further validating the high marks in TheInfoPro study, testimonies in the recently launched Riverbed [ Performance Hall of Fame ] provide a snapshot of satisfied customers and improved performance.

TheInfoPro Vendor Performance Report, based on interviews with 235 networking professionals at large and midsized enterprises in North America and Europe, compiles the results from in-depth discussions with IT vendors' customers. A vendor's performance is evaluated relative to peers and the evolution of its product portfolio. The report looks at current and projected spending levels with vendors, the likelihood that customers will switch vendors, and ratings based on responses collected for 14 categories focused on the company, products and Fulfillment.

Riverbed [ WAN optimization solutions ] enable organizations of all sizes to overcome a wide range of IT infrastructure performance bottlenecks, including poor application performance, slow database backups and insufficient bandwidth at remote sites. Nearly 7,000 customers have selected Riverbed WAN optimization solutions for faster performance, easier deployment and management, broader support for application acceleration and scalability without compromise. Riverbed customers also experience superior customer support and product quality.

According to the report, vendors were rated across 14 categories that focus on the company, products and Fulfillment. Customers voted based on a scale of one through five (0 = Poor and 5 = Excellent) in each of the 14 categories. Riverbed received a score of "Excellent" in five categories -- strategic vision, technical vision, product quality, product performance and delivery as promised to customers. Based on those ratings, vendors were mapped to Promise and Fulfillment indexes. The Promise Index is measured by the "strength of a vendor's marketing promises based on customer ratings of competitive positioning, technical innovation, management's strategic vision and brand/reputation." Riverbed received the highest score of 92, while the average score was 73. The Fulfillment Index is measured by the "strength of vendor Fulfillment based on customer ratings of value for the money, product quality, delivery as promised and technical support." Riverbed received the highest score of 90, while the average score was 74. The combined satisfaction ratings affirm both the value and support that Riverbed provides to its customers.

"We work closely with our customer base during the product development stage to make sure that we stay focused on addressing their constantly changing requirements," said Eric Wolford, senior vice president, marketing and business development at Riverbed. "This recognition is a testament to the quality solutions and value that we deliver to 7,000 customers."

Riverbed Customers Speak Up

Riverbed developed the Performance Hall of Fame to recognize the impact that Riverbed solutions have on customers' organizations. Each month a customer is recognized based on the number of votes from community members. Past Performance Hall of Fame winners include:
