RuggedCom Receives Record Purchase Order Totalling Over $US 2.1 Million for a Wind Power Application in China

CONCORD, ON, Jan. 4 /CNW/ - RuggedCom Inc. ("RuggedCom") (TSX:RCM), a leading provider of rugged communications networking solutions designed for mission-critical applications in harsh environments, today announced that it has received a purchase order totalling over $US 2.1 million for products used to build the Ethernet communications infrastructure in wind power generation facilities in China. Expected shipments are to be spread out over the next twelve months.

The order is comprised primarily of RuggedCom's award winning RuggedSwitch(R) family of substation hardened Ethernet switches which are used for the wind turbine control system and are interconnected throughout the wind farm.
