Lagoon encourages students in science with Physics Day at the park

Physics Day allows students to visit Lagoon to work on projects and dive deeper into science. Unique and fascinating projects inspire students from all across the state.

Lagoon Amusement Park in Utah hosted its annual Physics Day on May 10, 2025, aimed at encouraging students' interest in science through hands-on learning experiences. Over 2,000 students from various schools participated in the event, which featured educational activities centered around the physics of amusement park rides. Students had the opportunity to measure acceleration, velocity, and forces on rides like the Rocket, the Wild Mouse, and the Cannibal roller coaster. The event was organized in collaboration with local educators and included workshops and demonstrations led by physics teachers and university professors, emphasizing the practical applications of physics concepts. Lagoon's Physics Day not only provided an engaging learning environment but also highlighted career opportunities in STEM fields, inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers.
