Deputies say they respond to wrong-way drivers about four times a week.

Milwaukee County is exploring new technology to combat wrong-way driving incidents, following a series of fatal crashes. The proposed system, developed by Bosch, uses cameras and sensors to detect vehicles entering highways in the wrong direction and triggers flashing lights and alerts to both the driver and law enforcement. This technology, already implemented in Germany, could potentially be installed at 30 high-risk locations in Milwaukee County, with funding from a $250,000 grant. The initiative aims to enhance road safety by preventing wrong-way entries and reducing the risk of head-on collisions.
