Afia Dedaa Osae, a third-year student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), was tragically killed by a speeding 'trotro' (a type of shared taxi in Ghana) on the Spintex Road in Accra. The incident occurred on a Friday evening when Afia was crossing the road after visiting her sister. The driver of the trotro, who was reportedly speeding, hit her and fled the scene, leaving Afia with severe injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
