Computer Programs and Systems, Inc. EMR System Users Are First Hospitals in Oklahoma to Receive Stimulus Funds

MOBILE, Ala.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Computer Programs and Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CPSI), a leading provider of healthcare information solutions, today announced that Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center and McCurtain Memorial Hospital, both of whom utilize the Companya™s EMR system, were the first hospitals in the state of Oklahoma to receive an electronic health record (EHR) adoption incentive payment under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Each facility received a payment on February 2, 2011, of over $700,000 in stimulus funds made available under the Act, which promotes adoption of EHRs by health care providers. In order to qualify for funds under the program, hospitals must be users of an EMR system certified to support the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required under the ARRA. The CPSI EMR System, Version 17, was certified as a Complete EHR by CCHIT, an ONC Authorized Testing and Certification Body, in November 2010.
