Tekelec Advances Performance Management Solution for 3G and LTE Mobile Data

BARCELONA, SPAIN--(Marketwire - February 14, 2011) - Mobile World Congress Hall 1 Stand1F44/1G49 -- [ Tekelec ] (NASDAQ: [ TKLC ]), the broadband data management company, today introduced new high-bandwidth mobile data traffic acquisition and filtering capabilities in its performance management solution. Tekelec's [ Performance Intelligence Center ] now comes equipped with a next-generation, 10 gigabit/second (Gbps) probe to support operators' growing mobile data traffic volumes for Internet-based application usage.

The next-generation probe (NGP) augments Tekelec's Intelligence Data Management (IDM) architecture to allow service providers to examine large volumes of traffic in order to identify critical network and service performance trends, such as enterprise customer usage and support for new devices and services. With the NGP, operators can rapidly analyze traffic data at a more granular level to identify potential network, service and device issues and apply real-time policies to improve the overall quality of experience (QoE).

In addition, the probe architecture supports service providers' existing networks and technology interfaces, ensuring a cost-effective solution to seamlessly collect and correlate traffic data across 2G, 3G, IMS and LTE networks -- all from a common platform.

Tekelec's Performance Intelligence Center enables service providers to convert real-time and historical traffic data into actionable business intelligence. The platform's comprehensive dashboards and reports provide [ troubleshooting ], traffic and roaming management, service usage trending, device/handset performance and subscriber activity information across service providers' networks. The solution also integrates with Tekelec's [ signal transfer point ] and [ Diameter signaling ] products as well as its [ policy management ] and [ subscriber data management ] solutions to give service providers the tools to take action based on network performance and subscriber activity.
