Oracle Sets World Record Result on SAP(R) Sales and Distribution-Parallel Standard Application Benchmark Running the SAP Enhanc

  • Demonstrating the superior performance and high availability of the Oracle solution, including [ Oracle Database 11g ] and Oracle's new [ Sun x86-based server ], Oracle today announced a world record result on the SAP® Sales and Distribution-Parallel (SD-Parallel) standard application benchmark running the SAP enhancement package 4 for the SAP ERP 6.0 application(1).
  • [ Oracle Database 11g ] and [ Oracle Real Application Clusters ] running on two of the newest Sun Fire x4470 servers, each with four Intel® Xeon® x7560 2.26 GHz (eight) processors, [ Oracle Solaris ] operating system and [ Sun Storage ] F5100 Flash Array with FlashFire technology, achieved 21,000 SAP SD-Parallel benchmark users.
  • Oracle's eight-processor result demonstrated more than double the performance of the best published four-processor results on the two-tier SAP SD standard application benchmark that used Intel® Xeon® X7560-based hardware, which was running IBM DB2 on IBM System x3850 X5 server(2).
  • Additionally, Oracle surpassed an eight-processor Microsoft SQL Server result, running on an HP DL980 G7 with Windows, of 18,180 SAP SD benchmark users on the two-tier SAP SD standard application benchmark(3)(4).
