Trump's tech and science policy chief says Biden led with 'spirit of fear' and that today's progress lags 20th century innovation

In his first remarks since being confirmed as Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Michael Kratsios said the government could do more with less, and called for partnering with the private sector and with academics in areas of national interest.
Michael Kratsios, former chief technology officer under President Trump, spoke at the Austin Technology Summit about the potential for a second Trump administration to foster innovation through deregulation. He emphasized that Trump's policies would focus on reducing regulatory burdens on tech and science sectors, arguing that this approach would accelerate technological advancements and economic growth. Kratsios highlighted past achievements, such as the creation of the U.S. Space Force and initiatives to boost domestic semiconductor production, as examples of how deregulation could drive progress. He also addressed concerns about AI regulation, suggesting that a more hands-off approach could lead to greater innovation in the field.
