Jungsang Kim Named Chief Science and Technology Strategist for the Provost

  • Provost Alec D. Gallimore has appointed Professor Jungsang Kim to a new role overseeing the formation of the next phase of the Duke Science and Technology (DST) initiative.

Jungsang Kim, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Duke University, has been appointed as the Chief Science and Technology Strategist for the Office of the Provost. This new role, effective from February 1, 2025, aims to enhance Duke's strategic initiatives in science and technology. Kim, who is also the director of the Center for Quantum Information Science and Engineering, will work closely with the provost to identify and develop opportunities that leverage Duke's strengths in these fields. His responsibilities include fostering interdisciplinary collaborations, promoting innovation, and ensuring that Duke remains at the forefront of technological advancements. Kim's background in quantum computing and his leadership in securing significant research funding will be pivotal in driving Duke's strategic goals forward.
