Chandrayaan-4 To Launch In 2027: Union Minister Jitendra Singh

  • Chandrayaan-4 will involve at least two separate launches of the heavy lift LVM-3 rocket that will carry five different components of the mission which will be assembled in orbit.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced that India's next lunar mission, Chandrayaan-4, is scheduled for launch in 2027. This mission aims to bring back samples from the Moon, marking a significant step in India's space exploration endeavors. The announcement was made during the launch of the 'G20 Space Economy Leaders Meeting' in Shillong, where Singh highlighted the progress of India's space program, including the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission which demonstrated a soft landing on the lunar south pole. He also mentioned that India is preparing for the Gaganyaan mission, its first manned space mission, expected by 2025, and emphasized the country's growing role in the global space economy.
