Government of Belize rolls out USpace in Dangriga
By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Government of Belize has rolled out USpace in Dangriga Town. USpace, an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, seeks to promote the acquisition of skills and competency in computer technology and innovation.
The Government of Belize has introduced the Universal Service Fund's (USF) uSpace initiative in Dangriga, aimed at enhancing digital access and connectivity. This rollout includes the establishment of a state-of-the-art computer lab at the Dangriga Public Library, providing free internet access, computer usage, and digital literacy training. The initiative is part of a broader effort to bridge the digital divide, offering residents access to educational resources, online government services, and economic opportunities. The project was supported by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics, and E-Governance, with the goal of fostering digital inclusion and empowerment in the community.
