The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has inaugurated a state-of-the-art food innovation center in Iloilo City, Philippines, aimed at enhancing the region's food processing capabilities. This new facility, known as the Food Innovation Center (FIC), is designed to support local food entrepreneurs by providing advanced equipment and technology for product development, quality assurance, and packaging. The center features specialized labs for food analysis, sensory evaluation, and microbiology, which will help in elevating the standards of local food products to meet both national and international market demands. The initiative is part of DOST's broader strategy to foster innovation in the food sector, promote food safety, and increase the competitiveness of Filipino food products globally.
