SACP says 'unacceptable' DA has 6 GNU ministerial portfolios while it only has 1

The South African Communist Party (SACP) has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the distribution of ministerial portfolios in the Government of National Unity (GNU), where the Democratic Alliance (DA) has been allocated six portfolios while the SACP has only one. The SACP's General Secretary, Solly Mapaila, criticized the allocation as "unacceptable" and indicative of a skewed power dynamic within the GNU. He argued that this imbalance undermines the principles of inclusivity and fairness that the GNU should represent. Mapaila also highlighted concerns about the DA's influence potentially steering government policy in directions that might not align with the SACP's ideological stance, particularly on issues like economic policy and social justice. The SACP is calling for a more equitable distribution of power and influence within the GNU to better reflect the coalition's diverse political landscape.
