The Tanzania Education Authority (TAEC) has urged the government to increase funding for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education programs to enhance the country's technological advancement. During a recent stakeholders' meeting in Dar es Salaam, TAEC emphasized the critical role of STEM in driving innovation and economic growth. They highlighted the need for better-equipped laboratories, more qualified teachers, and updated curricula to meet global standards. The call for increased investment comes as Tanzania aims to position itself as a hub for technological innovation in Africa, with TAEC pointing out that current funding levels are insufficient to support the necessary expansion and improvement of STEM education across the nation.
