Epic Data Provides Update on Chinese Joint Venture

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 10, 2012) - Epic Data International Inc. (TSX VENTURE:EKD), a provider of manufacturing execution systems (MES), today announced that its majority owned joint venture in China successfully implemented its first MES project. The production system was developed for one of China's largest manufacturers of heavy trucks.

The EpicHUST joint venture was formed in March 2012 with Huazhong University of Science & Technology (HUST), one of China's most renowned engineering universities. In addition to its first system go-live, the EpicHUST joint venture has achieved the following results since its recent formation:

  1. Signed 10 contracts for MES projects with Chinese manufacturers in the automotive, aerospace and industrial equipment industries;
  2. Grown staffing at its operations in Wuhan, Hunan Province to 110 employees; and
  3. Relocated its operations from the campus of Huazhong University to the Wuhan Optical Valley Software Park with accommodation for over 200 staff.
