AT&T Government Solutions Receives Authority to Operate for Cloud Storage Service -- OAKTON, Va., Oct. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --

OAKTON, Va., Oct. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- [ AT&T Government Solutions ]* has received an Authority to Operate (ATO) for AT&T Synaptic Storage as a Service^SM from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA).

The ATO allows [ AT&T ] to offer [ cloud storage services ] to federal agencies through the GSA Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Blanket Purchase Agreement (GS00Q11AEA0002).

AT&T Synaptic Storage as a Service allows federal agencies to securely store, distribute, and retrieve data on-demand. Similar to enterprise customers, federal agencies will be able to scale and specify their storage needs through a Web-based customer portal.

Security remains a principal factor as agencies look to cloud solutions. [ AT&T Synaptic Storage ] as a Service supports moderate level security controls under the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).

The solution will be available to provide cloud services to federal agencies at AT&T Internet Data Centers (IDCs) in the continental United States.
