Cyclone Power Technologies Receives Patent in Australia; Further Expands IP Portfolio on Its Waste-to-Energy Technology
POMPANO BEACH, FL--(Marketwire - May 9, 2012) - [ Cyclone Power Technologies ] (
Designed to run on waste heat from the exhaust of industrial furnaces, diesel engines and gas turbines, Cyclone's WHE is also being adapted for other recovered energy applications. Such commercial uses include distributed power generators that run on agricultural waste and other biomass, as well as used motor oil. Cyclone is currently in pre-production durability testing of a power generator system using the WHE and fueled by waste motor oil for its customer [ Phoenix Power Group ].
Christopher Nelson, President of Cyclone and Managing Director of the company's WHE division, commented: "This patent in Australia comes at an excellent time for Cyclone and its shareholders as we seek to monetize our growing patent portfolio. We have received tremendous demand for our products in Australia, which is experiencing robust economic conditions fueled by their agriculture and mining industries. There's a tremendous amount of investment funding and customer demand in that region for new technologies that can increase energy efficiencies and utilize waste products on a distributed basis. Our WHE is a perfect candidate for these opportunities."
About Cyclone Power Technologies
Cyclone Power Technologies is the developer of the award-winning [ Cyclone Engine ] -- an all-fuel, clean-tech engine with the power and versatility to run everything from waste energy electric generators and solar thermal systems to cars, trucks and locomotives. Invented by company founder and CEO Harry Schoell, the patented Cyclone Engine is a eco-friendly external combustion engine, ingeniously designed to achieve high thermal efficiencies through a compact heat-regenerative process, and to run on virtually any fuel -- including bio-diesels, syngas or solar -- while emitting fewer greenhouse gases and irritating pollutants into the air. The Cyclone Engine was recognized by Popular Science Magazine as the Invention of the Year for 2008, was included in a 2011 report by Popular Mechanics as an important waste energy technology for the future, and was twice presented with the Society of Automotive Engineers' AEI Tech Award.
