Maclean's Magazine Names Softchoice One of Canada's Green 30 Companies

Softchoice Employees Passionately Support a "Green" Workplace

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 10, 2012) - Softchoice (TSX:SO), a North American provider of technology solutions and services, announced it has been named one of Canada's Green 30 Companies for 2012 by Maclean's Magazine. The list was compiled based on employee feedback using Aon Hewitt's Employee Green Index. The Index focuses on employees' perceptions of their employer's long-term and short-term environmental activities, as well as the consideration given to environment when making business decisions.

"I want to thank our employees making this recognition possible," said David MacDonald, Softchoice President and CEO. "I am very proud of the role they play in promoting sustainable IT practices with our customers as well as incorporating environmentally friendly approaches within our own workplace."

Over the years, Softchoice's employees have led a number of initiatives - from "green office" challenges and electronic recycling drives, to providing customers with electronic invoicing and consolidated shipping options to help 'green' their supply chain. The company also supports many environmentally friendly workplace practices such as its GreenCommute program, which provides cash incentives to employees who use public transit, biking, or walking to get to work.

"We want to create an environment where people feel they can make a difference," says Maria Odoardi, Vice President of People. "Our employees don't just follow policy - they drive change and insist on sustainable practices within the workplace. They show that every small action can have a positive impact on the environment."

This is Softchoice's second employee choice accolade in as many months having been named one of Canada's Best Workplace by The Globe and Mail for the seventh consecutive year.
