Verizon Wireless Honors Domestic Violence Survivors With Flowers On Mother's Day, Provides $7,500 In Grants To Shelters
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., May 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In celebration of Mother's Day, Verizon Wireless will deliver roses to survivors in domestic violence shelters across the state. Each flower delivery will be accompanied by a HopeLine® grant to support ongoing victim services at the shelter, with grants totaling $7,500.
"We are honored to be able to deliver hope and encouragement to women in domestic violence shelters and recognize them for their strength and resilience this Mother's Day," said Jonathan LeCompte, president – Georgia/Alabama region. "Verizon Wireless has a long-standing commitment to raising awareness about domestic violence and supporting services for those impacted."
Verizon Wireless' HopeLine program puts Verizon's technology and the nation's most reliable and largest network to work in communities by turning no-longer-used wireless phones into support for victims of domestic violence.
