Miranda Integrates Traditional and File-Based Playout with iTX Master Control
New highly integrated, scalable approach combines hands-on master control and automated playout
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - April 16, 2012) - NAB 2012, Booth N2512- Miranda Technologies Inc. (TSX:MT), a global provider of integrated solutions for production, playout and delivery systems for television broadcasters and multi-system operators, today announced the introduction of iTX Master Control (iTX MC), which combines the best of traditional master control functionality with scalable, modern, integrated playout technology.
ITX MC integrates Miranda's market-leading iTX integrated playout platform with its traditional master control technologies to provide local stations, national networks or sports broadcasters a solution that combines playout automation with live event functionality, enhanced live multi-input switching and familiar manual control capabilities.
Key features of the iTX MC solution include an automation system with rich live event features such as roll-under and join-in-progress; integrated video server with HD/SD capability; Input signal switching and processing, which includes the ability to seamlessly switch between multiple sources that are HD or SD video and a mix of stereo or 5.1, PCM or Dolby E audio; Integrated rich branding including logos, in-show promos, junctions and live data tickers; and a choice of hardware control panels or GUI interfaces for manual operator control of automation sequencing, source selection and branding.
Miranda's popular iTX system is the world's most advanced integrated playout platform and is the only system to have proven scalability. Miranda's master control products are in use on thousands of high-profile channels around the world and have a proven track record of simplifying complex channel chains. By integrating the functionality of these two platforms to form iTX MC, Miranda has created a solution that is unique and ideally suited to broadcasters with complex master control operations.
"The iTX MC system allows broadcasters that handle a large number of live events to take advantage of the simplicity and scalability of an integrated playout solution like iTx - and it provides the capabilities to handle live feeds from different sources safely and effectively," said Michel Proulx, Miranda's CTO. "This solution provides the best of both worlds."
