Assay Results Confirm Depth Extensions at A238 in Mauritania

Forte Energy NL ACN 009 087 852 ASX, AIM and Media Release 15th February 2012 Assay results in Mauritania confirm extensions at depth at the A238 Prospect. International uranium company Forte Energy NL (ASX/AIM: FTE; "Forte Energy" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that the drilling campaign at the A238 Prospect has been completed and further assay results have confirmed mineralisation at depth below the existing resources. An initial Reverse Circulation (RC) programme of 3,000m was started at the Hassi Baida calcrete area on the 6th February and is scheduled to be completed by the end of February. Highlights - Mauritania * Initial drilling programme at A238 completed with 63 holes totalling 8,567m. * Further assay results from seven longer holes have confirmed mineralisation at depth below the current resource model. Notable intersections include: - RC132: 14m @ 274ppm U - RC134: 16m @ 377ppm U - RC135: 6m @ 299ppm U - RC137: 7m @ 255ppm U - RC139: 7m @ 646ppm U 4m @ 437ppm U 4m @ 399ppm U 7m @ 273ppm U - RC143: 10m @ 485ppm U 6m @ 415ppm U * Approximately 75% of the assay results have been received with the remainder due before the end of March. * Compilation of the A238 resource upgrade started and scheduled to be completed by the end of March. Mauritania Following the initial assay results released on the 23rd January for the first 36 holes drilled at the A238 Prospect, the Company has now received further assay results from the Stewart Group Laboratories in Ireland from another seven RC holes from the 63 hole programme at the A238 Prospect. To view Figure 1: A238 RC drilling, please open the following link in a new window: [ http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/forte_1.pdf ] The seven RC holes were the first of a series of holes planned to the north east and south west of the existing resource outline to determine the potential extension of the mineralisation at depth through deeper angled holes. The assay results confirm mineralisation in the central area between cross section profiles L45 and L58, (approximately 0.7km of strike extent) extending down to over 200m below surface and to over 250m on profile L56 in RC 134. On cross section profile L56 (see Figure 2), two scissors holes were drilled: RC 133 from the southern side of the resource and RC 134 from the northern side. RC 133 was drilled at 60 degrees and intersected 25m @ 357ppm U from 172m. RC 134 was drilled from the north at an angle of 60 degrees and intersected intermittent mineralisation from 227m down to 301m including 16m @ 377ppm U from 285m below surface. To view Figure 2: A238 Section L56, please open the following link in a new window: [ http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/forte_2.pdf ] On cross section profile L47, RC 139 was drilled at 60 degrees from the north and intersected intermittent mineralisation from 112m down to 217m. This included 7m @ 646ppm U with grades over 1,650ppm U from 178m, 4m @ 437ppmU from 193m, 4m @ 437ppmU from 204m and 7m @ 273ppm U from 210m. (See Figure 3) To view Figure 3: A238 Section L47, please open the following link in a new window: [ http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/forte_3.pdf ] Further assay results from the remaining twelve A238 holes are expected later in the month and the compilation of the A238 resource upgrade has been started and is scheduled to be completed by the end of March. The initial RC drilling programme at Hassi Baida is 3,000m and will test several near to surface calcrete deposits, covering over 12km2. Historical works completed by the Company, including trenching and pits, have identified high grade mineralisation in close proximity to the surface. The recent drilling campaign, which is now completed on A238, has significantly increased our understanding of this high quality uranium ore body, which remains open at depth and along strike. Once Forte has received the assay results for the remaining 25% of the drilling on this project, we look forward to upgrading the current resource by the end of next month."
