Luxury timepiece retailer's new website offers rich, innovative customer experience

WESTBORO, Mass., Dec. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- MICROS-Retail, a division of MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ MCRS ]), and leading provider of retail technology for the specialty and general merchandise retail industry, is pleased to announce that Tourneau, a luxury watch retailer which currently holds an unrivaled presence in the market with 38 stores throughout the country, completed a successful launch of the Tourneau.com website utilizing MICROS-Retail Open Commerce Platform™.

The new Tourneau.com realizes the potential of MICROS-Retail's all-channel solution set, including MICROS-Retail's order management system, retail porter, and Open Commerce Platform. In the near future, the Relate CRM solution will drive Tourneau's clienteling efforts, which will allow sales professionals to provide white glove service to their customers, regardless of where the transaction begins or ends--on the web, mobile, or in-store.

"When embarking upon this new venture, we were impressed by the variety of MICROS-Retail's offerings and its forward-thinking multi-channel approach. The integration of technology across all touch-points of the business affords a seamlessness that can truly benefit our business and our customers," said Don McNichol, SVP Direct Marketing of Tourneau.

Tourneau saw the need to push the envelope with the front-end design of the site and awarded the creative and user experience design work to MICROS's Fry division. The innovative navigation and browse modes were carefully crafted to work on a tablet as well as on the desktop.

With the introduction of its new site, Tourneau brings to the market a destination website for its loyal customer base with a site experience that breathes innovation and highlights the luxury of the brands it sells. The site acts as a showcase for the timepieces, with high-resolution product photography that showcases even the slightest detail and highlights the inner-workings of the pieces.

The site's movement and interactivity allows the customer to move from timepiece to timepiece with ease, browsing leisurely and learning details from the deep well of product content. To further build the relationship and experience, the shopper can schedule service appointments online or have a timepiece delivered to the store for future pickup, thereby fostering a closer relationship with a store associate and extending the experience across channels.

"We are honored to work with Tourneau as it continues to fortify its brand and bolster its online presence," said John Gularson, Managing Director of MICROS-Retail. "We worked closely with the Tourneau team to push the envelope and deliver a highly creative and interactive design that will engage and captivate the customer."

Open Commerce Platform (OCP) is a Java-based, highly flexible commerce framework that can accommodate a variety of integration points including catalog functionality, content management, reporting capability and more, all customizable per the user's needs.
