This new Glowpoint customer is the only fully integrated bio and pharmaceutical services provider offering clinical, commercial, consulting and capital solutions. The firm has more than 20,000 employees in 60 countries and helped develop or commercialize all of 2010's top 50 best-selling pharmaceutical products or compounds. The company name is not disclosed in this announcement due to confidentiality requirements.

The company utilizes Polycom OTX immersive telepresence and HDX 9000 high-definition video conferencing systems in its offices throughout the world, including locations in the United States, Singapore, the United Kingdom and China. The firm has invested in telepresence and videoconferencing to provide its globally dispersed management and development teams with the capability to collaborate in real time over high-definition video.

Through its OpenVideo™ cloud architecture, Glowpoint is providing 24 x 7 remote monitoring and management services for the company's initial deployment of immersive telepresence rooms in the U.S, Singapore, and the U.K.. This includes daily proactive room sweeps that monitor the health of each telepresence room and identify issues that are resolved before they affect a meeting.

In addition, Glowpoint is providing management for multi-purpose videoconferencing rooms on an ad-hoc basis, as they participate in immersive telepresence sessions. Glowpoint also manages the company's on premise video infrastructure and provides video bridging and scheduling services.

The engagement is anticipated to grow beyond immersive telepresence as company expands its video communications footprint.
