S&P Indices Announces Change to U.S. Index

NEW YORK, Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- TE Connectivity Ltd. (NYSE: [ TEL ]) will replace Cephalon Inc. (NASD: CEPH) in the S&P 500 index after the close of trading on Friday, October 14. Cephalon is being acquired by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NASD: TEVA) in a deal expected to be completed on or about that date pending final approvals.

TE Connectivity is a provider of engineered electronic components, network solutions, specialty products, and subsea communication systems. Headquartered in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, the company will be added to the S&P 500 GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) Electronic Manufacturing Services Sub-Industry index.
