Sling Media Announces Availability of SlingPlayer for Android Tablets
All New Application Turns an Android Tablet Into a TV
FOSTER CITY, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 11, 2011) - Sling Media, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of EchoStar Corporation (
"A Slingbox is the perfect accessory to an Android tablet," said Raghu Tarra, senior vice president and general manager at Sling Media. "When combined with SlingPlayer, now anyone with an Android device can enjoy a beautiful, personalized TV experience anywhere in the world."
How It Works
When connected to a Slingbox SOLO or PRO-HD, the award-winning SlingPlayer software makes it easy to watch your home TV on your Android tablet running Android version 3.0 or later. Now Slingbox owners with Android tablets can change channels, control their DVRs and watch their favorite shows anywhere they have an Internet connection. They never have to miss another show or game, no matter where they are. To learn more, visit [ www.slingbox.com ].

SlingPlayer for Android Tablets is now available for U.S. $29.99, JPY ¥2600, UK GBP £20.99 and Euro EUR 23.99 from the Android Market. The application can be purchased, downloaded and installed in minutes.
The SlingPlayer application for Android Phones will continue to work in "Compatibility Mode" on tablets at no extra charge. The Android Phone version of the application streams from all Slingboxes, but not at the higher quality resolutions available on tablet devices.
