The college's War Gaming Department, part of the Center for Naval Warfare Studies, is the country's oldest war gaming facility, founded in 1887. The department conducts seminars, workshops, conferences and war games supporting the President of the Naval War College, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, U.S. Navy fleet commands and other Department of Defense and inter-agency organizations.
In 2008, after a four-year hiatus, the college resumed the "GLOBAL" series of war games. These complex games are designed to inform the Navy's manning, training, and acquisition decisions under U.S. Code Title 10 and are also known as Title 10 or "X" games.
Due to the unique skill sets required to support Title X games, the Naval War College selected Cubic based on Cubic's unmatched knowledge of past, present and future gaming requirements, proven track record of war gaming excellence, and a cumulative total of over 29 years of "boots-on-the-ground" experience with the War Gaming Department.
Cubic's Information Operations Division, based in San Diego, will provide game design, execution and analysis for the Title X program. Cubic will assist in developing the program's long-range plan, defining sponsor requirements, executing concept and planning conferences, and conducting and analyzing the games.
