TeleCommunication Systems Executive Appointed to E9-1-1 Institute Board

As a founding representative to the E9-1-1 Institute, facilitator for the Institute's Capitol Hill initiatives and executive of TCS, which serves half of all wireless and VoIP E9-1-1 calls, Mr. Lorello has the vision, leadership and knowledge for the advancement of 9-1-1 and public safety. In 2008, Mr. Lorello, the E9-1-1 Institute and TCS played a joint role in the congressional victory that granted VoIP-carriers 9-1-1 access and liability protection. Additionally, Mr. Lorello has provided strategic planning essential to E9-1-1 services to more than 140 million subscribers in the United States through more than 35 wireless and digital phone carriers. With this experience he will continue to help the E9-1-1 Institute serve as a forum for policy discussion related to E9-1-1 and emergency communications that will benefit public policy development.

In his current position at TCS, Mr. Lorello is responsible for marketing, strategic partnerships and distribution channels of the company's messaging, location, application and emergency 9-1-1 portfolio of products and services to operators around the world. After joining TCS in 1995 he was instrumental in the creation of TCS' commercial division, led the newly established Network Intelligence Division and subsequently has been essential in building the current base of commercial customers.
The E9-1-1 Institute ([ www.e911institute.org ]) is a not-for-profit organization, which provides administrative and policy support to the Congressional E9-1-1 Caucus. The purpose of the E9-1-1 Institute is to promote public education and awareness of E9-1-1 and emergency communications issues and serve the Congressional E9-1-1 Caucus as a clearinghouse of information on E9-1-1 and emergency communications issues. Gregory L. Rohde, former Administrator of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, serves as the E9-1-1 Institute's Executive Director.
