RCN Corporation: RCN Metro Appoints Maura Mahoney Vice President, Sales and Marketing

HERNDON, VA--(Marketwire - March 2, 2009) - [ RCN Metro Optical Networks ], a division of RCN Corporation (NASDAQ: [ RCNI ]) and a premier provider of fiber optic-based network solutions, announced today the promotion of [ Maura Mahoney ] to Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mahoney is responsible for the attainment of revenue targets, customer relationship management, marketing communications, product management, new product development, and market development for RCN Metro.

Mahoney joined RCN Metro Optical Networks in November 2007 through RCN's acquisition of NEON Communications and has since led the company's marketing efforts. She has over 19 years in the communications industry holding various Sales and Marketing roles of increasing responsibility with companies such as NEON Communications, Globix, Priority Call, Bell Atlantic and NYNEX.
