Tue, February 24, 2009 Merge Healthcare Brings Cost and Time Savings to Orthopaedic Surgical Planning
MILWAUKEE--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Merge Healthcare (NASDAQ: MRGE), a leading medical imaging solutions provider, today announced the release of Cedara ProPlanner™ 3.1, built on years of work with orthopaedic providers and vendors to offer a comprehensive digital solution for joint arthroscopy, trauma and deformity correction. This newest release also gives health IT application vendors the ability to integrate these capabilities into existing applications like PACS or EMRs.
Orthopaedic surgical planning can be a challenge because the surgeon and vendor must work together, often quickly, to ensure that the correct supplies are present for the surgery. Cedara ProPlanner contains features such as semi-automatic calibration, user-defined measurements and image stitching that help decrease the time and cost of planning for surgeons and vendors. A long-standing Merge Healthcare customer is preparing to launch this product in Asia to meet surgeon demand for increased workflow efficiency, accurate and detailed digital plans, and potential increased profitability.
