HERNDON, VA--(Marketwire - February 24, 2009) - ePlus inc. (NASDAQ: [ PLUS ]) announced that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has awarded ePlus Technology inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, two separate statewide information technology contracts. Both contracts awards are expected to be in force until June 30, 2011, with two one-year renewal options.

The first award includes peripherals and audio/visual products and related technical services (encompassing scanners, projectors, memory, UPS, TVs, monitors, teleconferencing gear, digital cameras, cables, and more). ePlus is one of only two vendors authorized by the Commonwealth to provide peripherals and audio/visual products through this contract, which is the primary vehicle through which all state agencies procure the covered equipment. All other public entities in the state, including local government and K-12 education, are eligible to purchase under the contract.

The second contract award covers networking hardware and related services (including routing, switching, wireless, firewall, and security infrastructure) from many manufacturers, including Cisco. For the networking portion of the RFP, ePlus is one of only five vendors to receive a contract award.

ePlus Technology has held contracts with the Commonwealth for networking, peripheral, and audio/visual products since 2004.

In addition to sourcing IT equipment through these contracts, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania utilizes ePlus' OneSource IT electronic procurement application. Through a punch-out interface with the state's ERP system, OneSource IT provides automated quoting, order processing, tracking, and many other features for a wide range of products. OneSource IT helps the Commonwealth be more productive and efficient in its procurement of the covered IT equipment to further reduce costs.

"We're pleased with the receipt of these two new awards from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the opportunity to continue to serve agencies and entities across the state with their strategic sourcing needs," said Darren Raiguel, national vice president, public sector at ePlus Technology. "The combination of our knowledgeable staff, OneSource IT for streamlined procurement, and strategic relationships with key manufacturers (including our status as a Cisco Gold Certified Partner with Cisco Master Specializations in Security and Unified Communications) will help the Commonwealth automate its processes and maximize cost savings."
