MINNEAPOLIS--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--ADC (NASDAQ: ADCT) ([ www.adc.com ]), today announced that its connectivity broadcast gear has been deployed in Corplex Inc.'s mobile production units that are used to support major sports, corporate news and entertainment events throughout the United States and Canada. Corplex, a leader in live television broadcasting, designed and built one of the industry's first all-digital mobile production units in 1998, and continuously updates its mobile units to keep pace with industry changes. Corplex's two High Definition (HD) mobile units and their two support units will cover activities and programs that are being held as part of one of the world's largest sports events in Tampa, Fla. this week.

ADC's portfolio of high-performance, highly-dependable solutions help broadcast and entertainment industry professionals integrate HDTV and digital audio capabilities into their businesses to achieve outstanding performance in real-world situations. The ProPatch® Miniature (PPM) System, the highest density and lightest true HD patch panel on the market today, is deployed in Corplex's Iridium and Zinc HD mobile production vehicles because of its reduced size, light weight and optimal performance.

"As the broadcast market changes and the demand for higher bandwidth gear increases, the space on our mobile production units is still limited to 53 feet and 80,000 pounds, so we are constantly looking for new advancements and products that can help us utilize this same space in better ways," said Dave Greany, vice president and partner at Corplex. "ADC's ProPatch Series frees up valuable space in the mobile unit by providing 30 percent more density. This translates into a third less space and half the weight of a normal patch bay so I can get more equipment in the truck. And ADC's PPM patching systems work the first time, every time."

ADC's [ Super High-Density Coax ] (SHDC) PPM is designed to reduce the amount of rack space required for coax video and audio panels. Versions are available for AES audio, as well as SMPTE 424 HD video. The ProPatch Miniature Series panels (PPM) with SHDC jacks are available in both 1 and 1.5 rack unit configurations. ProPatch professional audio panels also are used in the mobile units.

"ADC is pleased to play a role in providing high-performance and reliable broadcast connectivity solutions for Corplex's mobile production units at these major events," said Jaxon Lang, vice president of Global Connectivity Solutions (GCS) Americas at ADC. "Our broadcast solutions together with ADC's advanced in-building wireless solutions are enabling trouble-free coverage for all live event attendees."

ADC also announced that its [ InterReach Fusion ]® in-building cellular solution has been deployed at Tampa's 65,000-seat Raymond James Stadium to support mobile services for capacity crowds at football games and other events. The system will provide coverage throughout the stadium, including the inner bowl, all seating levels, luxury boxes, offices and locker rooms, and the stadium parking area.
